Australian Wine Tasting – July 17th, 2007

This Tuesday (July 17th), we will be doing an Australian Wine tasting, featuring seven amazing wines from across Australia. Spike Maynard from Harvest Vintage Imports will be hosting the event, which is scheduled to start at 7:30pm. Reservations are required, so please call (780) 497-7858.

Movie Night – “Breach” – July 15th, 2007

This Sunday (July 15th), we will be featuring the thriller , “Breach”, starring Ryan Phillippe and Chris Cooper. As always, it’s a good idea to make reservations.

Plot: Based on the true story, FBI upstart Eric O’Neill enters into a power game with his boss, Robert Hanssen, an agent who was ultimately convicted of selling secrets to the Soviet Union. Runtime: 110 minutes. Rated PG-13 for violence, sexual content and language.

Wine Tasting – ‘ Summer Surprises from Around the World’ – July 10th, 2007

Movie Night – “The Painted Veil” – July 8th,2007

This Sunday (July 8th), we will be showing the film, “The Painted Veil”, the novel by W. Somerset Maugham, starring Naomi Watts and Edward Norton As always, it’s a good idea to make reservations.

Plot: The Painted Veil is a love story set in the 1920s that tells the story of a young English couple, Walter (Edward Norton), a middle class doctor and Kitty (Naomi Watts), an upper-class woman, who get married for the wrong reasons and relocate to Shanghai, where she falls in love with someone else. When he uncovers her infidelity, in an act of vengeance, he accepts a job in a remote village in China ravaged by a deadly epidemic, and takes her along. Their journey brings meaning to their relationship and gives them purpose in one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth. Runtime: 125 minutes. Rated PG-13 for some mature sexual situations, partial nudity, disturbing images and brief drug content.

Movie Night – “The History Boys” – June 24th,2007

This Sunday (June 24th), we will be showing the British film, ‘The History Boys”, based on the Alan Bennett stage play. The film won 2 BAFTA awards and garnered numerous other nominations. As always, it’s a good idea to make reservations.

Plot: An unruly class of gifted and charming teenage boys pursue of sex, sport, and higher education. Runtime: 109 minutes. Rated R for language and sexual content.

Chilean Wines – TerraMater Wineries – June 19th, 2007

This Tuesday (June 19th), we will be checking out some Chilean wines from the TerraMater Estate Winery. Terramater Estate is one of the countries best known mid sized wineries, and the three sisters that own it have crafted some lovely wines from the light and fertile soils of Chile. Movie Night – Documentary Double Feature: “Wordplay” & “Jesus Camp” – June 17, 2007

This Sunday (June 17th) we will be doing a documentary double feature. The first flick will be “Wordplay” starting at 6:30pm. “Jesus Camp” follows at 8:30pm. As always, it’s a good idea to make reservations.

Plot: “Wordplay”: An in-depth look at The New York Times’ long-time crossword puzzle editor Will Shortz and his loyal fan base. Runtime: 94 minutes. Rated PG for some language and mild thematic elements. 6:30pm
Plot: “Jesus Camp”: A documentary on kids who attend a summer camp hoping to become the next Billy Graham. Runtime: 84 minutes. Rated PG-13 for some discussions of mature subject matter. 8:30pm

Martini Tasting – June 12th, 2007

This Tuesday (June 12th), we will be doing one of our ever popular Martini Tastings, featuring eight half ounce pours of some new cool new concoctions that we have come up with. Kerry Clynes from David Herman & Associates will be joining us to tell you about the drinks. The tasting begins at 7:30, so we recommend being a little early for that one.

Movie Night – ‘Little Children’ – June 10th, 2007

This Sunday (June 10th) we will be featuring the drama ‘Little Children’, starring Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. The movie was nominated for three oscars, among its numerous accolades. We are going to begin the film will begin at 7:30pm on Sunday. As always, it’s a good idea to make reservations.

Plot: Little Children centers on a group of young marrieds, whose lives intersect on the playgrounds, town pools and streets of their small community in surprising and potentially dangerous ways. Runtime: 130 minutes. Rated R for strong sexuality and nudity, language and some disturbing content.
